How to get people to click on your ads

A while back, I had an article that talks about how to create a need for people to click on your ads and how I would write the full article later on about it. So I did found a way, via chance.

It was during the time when I was trying to get the blogs out there, so I looked for promo opportunities. And I found this one blog that was giving promo. It said ‘Message me why you deserve a promo from me.” So I messaged the blog saying my blog is a psychology blog and it has studying tips that I think might be useful.

And it replied me back with a screen shot (picture) of instructions on clicking on adds. 1) Click on the ads located at these spot. 2) Stay on there for 10-30 seconds 3) Send me back the following info a) what the ads about b) how long you stayed there. Once I promote you, I ll let you know.

And I’ve adopted the very same methods. Hence, the promos.

What can we do if we get banned?

a) It’s not the end of the world. Just start two accounts. Split the earnings on each. So if one gets banned, the other one still is ok.

b) There’s also other ads company. Or you can do promo advertising which can make just as much! or not even more depending on your follower count and how much you are charging.

Ethical Issues regarding this?

Part of the policy is not to provide any incentives or manipulation to encourage clicks (or even attention to the adds).

How to turn Blogging into a Success

If you have 1 successful blog, you can start creating new blogs. And if each blog makes like X amount of dollars, you can multiply that by Z number of blogs for some total earning. SO if you have 3 blogs you might make 50$ in total a day, but with 4blogs, You might make 70$ in total a day. 

OF course, the price of having more blog = more work. But the strategy behind this is to higher others to run other blogs for you. There are a lot of people willing to run a popular blog for you (those add members to blog  type) but concern is they might not actually post good stuff. So you need to choose people. This part is still challenging for me. 

I tried to do that for psych-quotes.tumblr.com because I don’t really want to run that blog anymore, but the quotes submitted not really .. what i wanted. And you also need to train the people too.

If you have 10 blogs making 10$ a day, and all are run by members, you can make 100$ /day. 

Tips on Blogging

1.  Focus on a specific blog niche. Mine is psychology. Other really successful blogs niche are ‘humor, quotes, love stuff’ . 

2. People say learn backlinks. In tumblr, that’s actually getting your stuff reblogged and shared by people. What backlink is when someone shares your article and provides a link to it so their viewers can visit your blog. And if their blog is popular, chances are you will get a lot of new followers/viewers from them as well. This can also be equated with submissions. 

3. ADVERTISE ADVERTISE ! Don’t be cheap and do it. It’s worth it at the end. In the past, tumblrs blog used to get followers by being recommended to some page, and a lot of the current top blogs are at the top because of that. But nowadays, the main key to getting more followers is adverstising. YES< they can cost up to 20$/ single promo (which I bought once) , but the traffic that comes in from the other blog can earn you way more than that + gain in followers. SO technically, you don’t lose anything. 

4. POST FREQUENTLY and stuff that people will actually like! 

5. Use topographies with ‘your blog link mention somewhere’ When these posts get reblogged, people can see the url more clearly on the posts and visit your blog. 

6. USe the quene if you are not lazy. It’s helpful to spread out your posts. I would use it, but I usually want to see immediate results. (because I can keep track of what’s working or not and  change my approach immediately). 

7. EDUCATE YOURSELF WITH YOUR NICHE. Strive to become an expert, and learn as much as you can on your field. I’m currently trying to get into Grad SChool, be the first psychology blog on tumblr to have a PhD. 

8. I can totallly see the potential with tumblr! Soon, I bet it’s going to have more interesting options (and you want to take advantage of it now while it’s still in its developing stage). 

9. Communicate with your followers. People underestimate this, but your followers are the key to your success. They give you feedbacks, spread words about your blog etc.

10. Read this person’s stuff: sitevalue.tumblr.com . It has helped me out a bunch.

11. LEARN everything you can about HTML/CSS coding cause that’s what tumblr uses. I learned it on my own using w3schools.com . It’s very straightforward. You will need to know HTML/CSS to learn how to put your ads or design a template that is suitable for ads. Or higher someone. 

12. KNOW PHOTOSHOP (i still don’t know it , but I had someone designed the background templates for me). 

13. SOON, learn about all the online money making strategies. I recommend google adsense. Most others are scam. And avoid affiliate marketing when you first start out, because to be successful with those, you need to already be successful with your ads. Youtube Partnership is also another great way. But you need to know how to record stuff. and know some video editing. 

How to get approved for google adsense? I applied when my blog was receiving 100-150 pageviews per day and only had like between 600 followers? For tumblr, I think getting adsense approved is not hard. You just have to mentioned clearly what your blog is about and what it provides to its audience. 

In the past, I said one of my goal was to one day higher people to carry out certain blog tasks for me.

This is kinda becoming a reality. Though the challenge is coordinating a team, dividing tasks up, and keeping track of your budget. Not to mention training them and finding suitable/trustworthy people to do it. 

I think in order to succeed in blogging is really to have other people do the blog tasks for you while you still make consistent profit.
